A monitor is a saved discovery rule. It tells Outpulse where to look for people on X — either an account’s followers/following list, or the repliers to a specific tweet — and what filters to apply before adding them as leads. Monitors don’t send anything. They produce a pool of qualified profiles. You then create campaigns against one or more monitors to actually message people. Two scan modes

When you create a monitor, you pick one of two modes:

From an Account

Outpulse scans the followers, following, or both of one or more target accounts. Use this when you know an account whose audience overlaps with your ICP — for example a competitor, a respected community leader, or a relevant community account. You can list multiple target handles per monitor and they’re scanned as a single pool. Scrape options:

From a Post

Outpulse collects everyone who replied to one or more specific tweets. Use this when a single post has a thread full of people in the exact conversation you care about — pricing complaints, “what should I use” threads, or product launch announcements. Paste full tweet URLs (https://x.com/user/status/123…). You can list several URLs per monitor.

Filters

Both modes apply the same filters to the candidate pool:

Bio keywords

Only keep profiles whose bio contains at least one of the listed words. Examples: CEO, SaaS founder, B2B, growth, agency. Leave empty to keep everyone.

Follower range

  • Min Followers — exclude profiles below this size (filters bots and brand-new accounts)
  • Max Followers — exclude very large accounts that are unlikely to be real prospects
  • Min Following — additional sanity filter for very low-engagement profiles
Set zero on any field to skip that limit.

Connected X account

Each monitor is tied to one connected X account. The scanning runs on that account’s behalf. If you have multiple accounts in a workspace, pick the one whose audience profile best matches the discovery you want to do.

Creating a monitor

  1. Go to Monitors in the sidebar
  2. Click New Monitor
  3. Choose From an Account or From a Post
  4. Fill in target handles or tweet URLs
  5. Set bio keywords and follower limits
  6. Pick the connected X account
  7. Click Create Monitor
Outpulse begins scanning shortly after creation. New leads stream into the Leads page as they’re discovered, and AI scoring runs in the background. [IMAGE: Screenshot of the New Monitor form with both scan modes visible]

Monitor lifecycle

Deleting a monitor also removes its leads from this workspace. To stop scanning without losing the lead pool, pause the monitor instead.

How monitors feed campaigns

Monitors produce profiles. Campaigns consume them.
When you create a campaign, you pick one or more monitors as sources, set an AI score threshold, and Outpulse imports the matching leads. Anyone already imported into another campaign in this workspace is excluded automatically. → Campaigns → Leads page

Plan limits

Each plan has a cap on how many active monitors you can run at once. If you hit the cap, the New Monitor flow shows an upgrade prompt with the relevant plan options. → Subscription plans
