Metrics tracked

What counts as an engagement

An engagement is a DM thread where you’ve updated the pipeline status to Replied — hot lead or Replied — warm. Because Outpulse doesn’t poll X for inbound replies, engagements are tracked via your manual status updates in the Outbound Tracker.

Why compare to Twitter Ads?

Twitter/X Ads is the most common alternative for reaching people on X. The benchmark cost-per-engagement gives you a reference point for the value Outpulse delivers relative to the paid alternative. Outpulse outreach is typically significantly cheaper per engagement because:
  1. You’re reaching people who are already in a relevant conversation — not cold audiences
  2. Personalized DMs get higher response rates than ads
  3. You’re paying for AI compute and API calls, not ad auction prices

Improving your ROI

The main levers for improving cost per engagement:
  • Raise your intent threshold — fewer signals, but higher quality → better reply rates per post sent
  • Improve your tone profile — more authentic drafts → higher reply rates
  • Use bulk generation — generate multiple drafts in one session for efficiency
  • Review and skip low-quality signals — don’t spend credits on posts that clearly aren’t buyers
